Although, for historical, economic and social reasons, the majority of Brazilian publishing houses is concentrated in a geographic area known as “Rio-São Paulo axis”, many important editorial initiatives, not widely described yet, have occurred beyond that area. When it comes to publishing houses dedicated to the publication of and for women, some initiatives took place in other locations, such as Mulheres, in the city of Florianópolis, and Mulheres Emergentes, designed by poet and publisher Tânia Diniz, in the city of Belo Horizonte. In this work, in addition to dealing with the ME mural and its publisher’s trajectory, we make some considerations about “independent” edition in cases like this.
