Abstract

TORRES TORRES, Alejandra. “Mujeres editoras en el Uruguay contemporáneo: de Susana Soca (1906-1959) a Nancy Bacelo (1931-2007)”. Cuad. Cent. Estud. Diseñ. Comun., Ensayos [online]. 2022, n.107, pp.130-147.  Epub May 22, 2022. ISSN 1853-3523.  http://dx.doi.org/10.18682/cdc.vi107.4206.

Until the second half of the twentieth century, in Uruguay, the edition was in charge of publishers, with an almost absolute invisibility of women in those spaces. It will be from the 50’s when the presence of two women begins to be profiled in the Montevidean capital, who, with notorious differences, will enter the publishing field of that time: Susana Soca, responsible for the Entregas de la Licorne (1953-1959) and Nancy Bacelo, responsible for the publishing label 7 Poetas Hispanoamericanos (1960-2006) and the creation of the National Book and Engraving Fair (1961). I propose then to place these two enterprises in dialogue based not only on their differences but, fundamentally, on what approaches them.

Keywords : Women publishers; Edition; Uruguay; XX Century..
