Abstract
PEREIRA, Maria do Rosário A.. Narrativa brasileira de autoria feminina contemporânea: breves apontamentos. Cuad. Cent. Estud. Diseñ. Comun., Ensayos [online]. 2022, n.107, pp.167-185. Epub May 22, 2022. ISSN 1853-3523. http://dx.doi.org/10.18682/cdc.vi107.4208.
The purpose of this article is to make some considerations, in the light of gender studies and feminist criticism, about three novels by contemporary Brazilian authors: Quarenta dias (2014), by Maria Valéria Rezende, which problematizes female aging in society; A vida invisível de Eurídice Gusmão (2016), by Martha Batalha, who narrates the experiences of two sisters in the 1940s, dealing with the “woman’s destiny” and the implications of following it or not; and Com armas sonolentas (2018), by Carola Saavedra, which addresses problematic motherhood, I mean, women who are mothers but regret it, even though they sometimes live with dubious feelings, such as guilt.
