In its founding legacy, the modern school has been constituted under certain mechanisms of control, power, vigilance and punishment regulated through a strong disciplinary device. The "traditional school" worked under these parameters that were forming criteria of normality and abnormality, installing imaginary and stereotypes about how a student should be, how his physical appearance should be, how he should address the authority, his peers and the institution. Humiliation, a category associated with a negative emotion (along with fear, violence, shame, contempt) is part of the pedagogical universe since its foundation. According to these imaginary, an analysis will be carried out on the way in which cinema has represented humiliation in the school context, and then focus on the contempt for ignorance.
