The article aims to reflect on the insertion of Design for Sustainability and, in particular, Sustainable Product Service System (SPS.S) approach in the Argentine context, starting from addressing the essential aspects proposed by the triple helix model (university-industry-government). In this way, on the one hand, the position of the Universities in relation to teaching D4S and SPS.S is reviewed, and on the other the governmental and non-governmental agenda, as well as the sector priorities related to the implementation of strategies around Sustainable Development. The results are expected to contribute to the discussion on the incorporation of appropriate instruments in the development of competencies in D4S and SPS.
