Currently the regional context is crossed by cultural transformations due to the phenomenon of globalization and the acceleration of processes. These ups and downs bring new survival difficulties for local productive units, because they add to an environment that is already complex: competition with various world markets. They also suppose new challenges and questions like: What added value does the design provide? What kinds of strategies can be organized inside productive organizations? This article investigates and develops, taking the case of the Mar del Plata city textile company, how design crosses and impacts in a holistic way in the factory’s production, organizational and communicational structure.
