Abstract

The study of metropolitan problems generated by strong global urbanization process is not new. Already in 1960 the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations recommended that governments consider formulating national policies and metropolitan development plans, and to generate suitable regional organizations that can address such issues 8930B Res (XXXII). However, countries like Argentina have not taken seriously the challenges involving urban conurbation processes, their administration, sustainable management, and especially the required interjurisdictional coordination of the territories involved; running the risk of facing the conurbation processes when is too late to do anything.(SOJA, 2008). The metropolitan governance that metropolitan regions such as the one developing within the Greater Corrientes-Greater Resistencia conurbation requires thinking about sharing private and public projections and actions consistent with the four planning dimensions raised by John Friedmann: Economic, Physical, Socio-cultural and Environmental (Friedmann, 1999). The paper includes an initial process of gathering information and regional urban cities treated, and the homogenization and processed the discerning inclusive and flexible.
