This article retrieves the psychogenetic process relating to the construction of knowled-ge of the structure of land values in Mar del Plata. The author has been developing this approach since the end of the 1980s and now suggests how to use it as a bridge, connecting our current progress in researching developments on the issue, to sustaining a process of equitable distribution of the costs and benefi ts resulting from the recently approved Law on Fair Access to Habitat. To achieve this we need to dispel erroneous approaches within the debate on the financing of development of Latin American cities in general and Mar del Plata in particular.
