Abstract

CRUZ MUNOZ, Fermín Alí. Microdistribución de los servicios al productor en la ciudad de méxico en la primera década del siglo XXI. Cuad. urbano [online]. 2015, vol.19, n.19, pp.29-56. ISSN 1853-3655.

Land use fragmentation has determined that the distribution of economic activity is characterized by micro-differences. This situation requires that any analysis of the territorial organization of business services has to be done within very small spatial units. The objective of this research is to understand the spatial configuration of business services in the Mexico City metropolitan area. Through the use of census tract data it is possible to confirm the high concentration of service activities in small areas of the metropolis within a dual pattern of high concentration of productive activities. On the one hand, there are concentrations of high production that configure subcenters, and on the other, there are isolated nodes or microdistricts of high production. The productivity characteristics of these nodes is clearly related to their distance from the urban center.

Keywords : Business service, economic activity distribution, Mexico City, economic concentration.
