Under the socio-economic transformations that occured after the 2001-2002 economic crisis, the Argentine government implemented a new housing policy logic. The Province of Tucumân was one of the main recipients of funds in this regard, so the Metropolitan Area of Tucumân was chosen as a field of study for this research into this logic, as significant urban growth occurred during the past decade. This paper analyzes the new logic's urban consequences, in particular those produced by all social housing programs' housing production, in order to verify the continuities and discontinuities with respect to previous plans. Compliance with the State's role as a promoter of building and community integration was considered through a study at two scales: the metropolitan level and a neighborhood were analyzed. In the first, the spatial effects in shaping the configuration of the metropolitan area were considered, in the second. the logics' social consequences were studied.
