Abstract

MICHEL, Nicole. CONSTRUCCIONES SOSTENIBLES: INCENTIVOS PARA SU DESARROLLO EN LA CIUDAD AUTÓNOMA DE BUENOS AIRES. Cuad. urbano [online]. 2016, vol.20, n.20. ISSN 1853-3655.

Individually, green buildings have already proven to contribute to a more sustainable environ-ment. Collectively, green buildings, within an urban context could help mitigate potential social and environmental challenges derived from unanticipated exponential growth of cities, including pollution, the degrading of ecosystems, of urban climate conditions, and the increase of poverty, and social inequality. It therefore appears essential to search for opportunities to promote sus-tainable building practices with positive impacts not only on buildings users and their immediate surroundings but also on urban spatial qualities, especially in terms of social and environmental conditions. This paper presents a series of incentives aimed at promoting and strengthening the responsible development of the built environment, without generating an economic or financial burden on the city, and taking into consideration both existing and desired urban conditions. It identifes specific areas that would greatly beneft from sustainable developments, incentives - in particular structural and social ones - which are proposed and defined in terms of their scope and suggested location within the City of Buenos Aires.

Keywords : Green buildings, sustainable, incentives.
