Considerations regarding public-private sector frameworks: the case of the pharmaceutical pole to the south of the city of Buenos Aires. This paper explores the relationships established between state, entrepreneurial and social organizations in Villa Soldati’s Pharmaceutical Pole project. It considers the tensions that emerged during that process and the way in which they affected the initiative. Despite having the support of the local executive and some national government agencies, and being promoted by a sector with economic power and political influence, the Pharmaceutical Pole project never materialized. The analysis shows that these interventions are shaped in a complex web of interests, of disputes between diverse actors and in dynamic contexts, that affect the forms and orientation of these projects as well as their conditions of viability.
