Abstract

LOPEZ GOYBURU, Patricia. The urban-rural articulation space of Buenos Aires at the middle of the twentieth century and the Regulatory Plan of 1958. Estudios Socioterritoriales [online]. 2017, vol.21. ISSN 1853-4392.

Throughout the history of Buenos Aires there are different types of articulation between the urban and the rural system. The present work aims to understand how the relationship between the urban and the rural system is looked and projected in Buenos Aires at the middle of the twentieth century. For that reason it is necessary to refer to urban documents and bibliography dealing with the city in this period. The documents show the ways of thinking the city in each historical moment and indicate the Regulatory plan sought to establish a clear delimitation of rural and urban spaces through its restructuring and management. The plan stated that the city and its Metropolitan Area conformed a formal and functional unit.

Keywords : Urban-rural articulation; Planning; Regulatory Plan; Buenos Aires.
