Abstract

TRUCCO, Ignacio Tomás. The territorial dimension in the Regional Accumulation Subsystem approach and the alternative of the Territorial Accumulation Subsystems. Estudios Socioterritoriales [online]. 2017, vol.22. ISSN 1853-4392.

Political economics has tried to include the territorial dimension to its approach. This paper analyses how the Regional Accumulation Subsystem Approach (ESAR) incorporates the territorial dimension. In the ESAR, the territorial dimension appears as an attempt to set up a measuring criteria of the capital accumulation. Nevertheless, we argue that in this approach, the territorial dimension remains exogenous to the social relationships that define the development of capital accumulation. Our argument is analyzed in two versions of the ESAR: the ESAR-cronos, in which prevails the time dimension and the ESAR-topos, dominated by the spatial dimension. Finally, we propose a group of hypothesis that allows to incorporate the territorial dimension as a constitutive dimension of socioeconomic development.

Keywords : Territoriality; Capital; Society; Subsystems.
