Abstract

TRIVI, Nicolás Alberto. Mountain tourist destinations, between urban expansion and the defense of natural assets. Challenges for land use planning in Nono and Traslasierra (Córdoba, Argentina). Estudios Socioterritoriales [online]. 2021, vol.30, pp.92-93. ISSN 1853-4392.  http://dx.doi.org/10.37838/unicen/est.30-306.

Since the crisis of 2001-2002, the urban question in Argentina is characterized by an urban land production whose objective is the placement of surpluses and the valorization of capital. This trend is combined with tourism at different scales, thanks to phenomena such as neo-rurality. The town of Nono, in the Traslasierra valley of the province of Córdoba, is a traditional mountain tourist destination, where these changes are taking place. The aim of this work is to analyze the transformations that mountain towns are going through in relation to their urban expansion, linked to tourism, and to discuss the role of local governments in this scenario, in view of the current conflicts in this town. A case study approach was used to analyze a national problematic.

Keywords : Urban expansion; Neo-rurality; Tourism; Land-use planning.
