Abstract

MARTINEZ, Ana Teresa. Religión y diversidad en el NOA: explorando detrás de un Documento Regional de Identidad. Soc. relig. [online]. 2010, vol.20, n.32-33, pp.157-187. ISSN 1853-7081.

The survey Beliefs and Religions in Argentina, held in January 2008 shows regional differences. In the case of NOA, at first glance, those would make think in a more deeply rooted Catholicism and therefore in a less diversity of religious beliefs and practices. This paper explores this apparent homogeneity, looking for his fissures by questioning, not the expressive authenticity of respondents, but the complexity hidden under the self-identification as Catholic believers in the region. Through approximations to the data, which are not without risk, but that we judge epistemically justified, we seek evidence of not expressed diversity, that is historically dissimulated in the region below the legitimacy of nomination.

Keywords : Catholicism; Argentinian Nor-West; religious legitimacy; catholic selfmadeship.
