Abstract

When catholicism is taken under consideration within the origins of peronismo in Argentinian provinces, it is reduced to a participation defined as continuous-conservative. Through the study on this matter in Santiago del Estero, the author suggests making a more complex perspective, taking such participation as one of the elements, among others, that converge into the attempt of building up an symbolic in the province. To show the range and contents of such influences, just after proposing a review on the structural conditions of politics and religion in the province, the author appeals to a reconstruction of militants carrer paths and to the analysis of assumption discourses of the firts peronistas governors in the province. These tools allowes him to examinate not only belongings to crossed militant spaces -politics and religious- or explicit religious references, but also tacit one’s, which calls up a symbolic connection between some current elements in catholicism -local and national- since the thirties and also ideas, practices and politics of the first peronismo santiagueño.
