Summary:Aspidosperma quirandyHassl. is reestablished as a different taxon fromAspidosperma tomentosumMart. Updated descriptions from both taxa, an identification key, ecological observations and new reference material are presented. The typification of four names described by Hassler based on material from Paraguay are resolved, designating a lectotype forAspidosperma quirandy, and presenting second-step lectotypifications forAspidosperma quirandyvar.campestreHassl.,Aspidosperma quirandyvar.silvaticumHassl., andAspidosperma rojasiiHassl.
