Abstract
PONCE, María Teresa et al. Native climbing Mutisia subspinosa Cav. micropropagation. Rev. Fac. Cienc. Agrar., Univ. Nac. Cuyo [online]. 2011, vol.43, n.2, pp.235-243. ISSN 1853-8665.
The native species Mutisia subspinosa is a frost resistant perennial climbing plant with beautiful orange flowers. In previous works, propagation by seeds and cuttings have not performing well, thus micropropagation protocols were evaluated. Half strength Murashige Skoog basal medium was used for in vitro establishment, with the addition of 6-benzilaminopurine (BAP) alone or in combination with thidiazuron (TDZ); the control had not got any hormones. The same basal medium with, indol butyric acid (IBA); naphthalenacetic acid (NAA) and activated charcoal were assayed in the multiplication stage. The culture medium more appropriate for the in vitro establishment was the control treatment while the best results in the multiplication were obtained with the addition of 2.7 μmoles.L-1 of NAA. The inclusion of 1 g.L-1 of activated charcoal in the medium improved the multiplication rate and the rooting.
