Abstract

LESGART, Cecilia. The metaphors and concepts: Essay in honor of Guillermo O'Donnell. Temas debates (En línea) [online]. 2012, n.24, pp.49-58. ISSN 1853-984X.

We analyse two conceptual intentions in Guillermo O'Donnell´s hold work: the composition of scientific concepts and the production of metaphors that we suspect were not seen as pre-scientific stage in his work. First, we observe the emergence and composition of bureaucratic-authoritarianism as a key concept with analytic and explicative purposes, and link with the willing to trespass the narrow center case experience, and the national theoretical borders. Second, we examine the production of expressive and descriptive words. Used with the disposed to evaluates political, social and cultural situations, they strength the Political Science discursive tradition.

Keywords : Concepts; Analytic and explicative purpose; Bureaucratic-authoritarianism; Metaphors; Description.
