Abstract

PEREYRA DOVAL, Gisela. Autonomy as foreign policy's rector axis: The Brazilian case. Temas debates (En línea) [online]. 2013, n.25, pp.109-125. ISSN 1853-984X.

The main goal of this article is to analyze the autonomy as the core axis of Brazilian administrations. For that purpose, we take three key cases. In the first section, we formulate three general rules which originate from different theories on autonomy to contrast them with the cases. In the second section, we explain foreign policy models through different paradigmatic visions. We affirm that the autonomy can be held by diverse administrations even when they apply different foreign policy models. Finally, we analyze dissimilar foreign policy models applied to achieve autonomy by the three administrations under study.

Keywords : Autonomy; Foreign policy; Brazil.
