Abstract

HAIDAR, Julieta. Unions's studies in Argentinean Political Science. Temas debates (En línea) [online]. 2013, n.26, pp.147-166. ISSN 1853-984X.

Unions are not a privileged object of study in Political Science in Argentina, and when they have been studied it was in relation to the State. Because of this epistemological definition, hegemonic approaches on trade unionism are pluralism and corporatism. We propose to review critically the research conducted in Argentina from such approaches. To do this we will first review the interpretations of Argentine trade unionism in three stages (post-war, '90s, post-crisis of 2001), to finally evaluate them, note their contributions and weaknesses. Among the contributions highlight the theoretical development of the categories of corporatism and its use to address empirically the relationship between State and trade unions. As weaknesses we note that sub-valued capital-labor axis in a social formation, prevents capture in their complexity and specificity union strategies.

Keywords : Trade unionism; Political Science; Corporatism; State; Capital-labor.
