Abstract

TCACH, Iván. Political Identities and Party Institutionalization: An Exercise of Comparative Analysis. Argentina (2003-2007) and Uruguay (2005-2010). Temas debates (En línea) [online]. 2016, n.31, pp.81-97. ISSN 1853-984X.

Is it possible to articulate notions from the field of political philosophy such as "agonistic pluralism" and "radical democracy" (Chantal Mouffe) with those derived from the political studies about parties institutionalization and parties system? In this article the challenge is to analyze two post-neoliberalism experiences: Néstor Kirchner’s in Argentina (2003-2007) and Tabaré Vázquez’s in Uruguay (2005-2010). That mixture of approaches, pretend to do a comparative exercise analysis which refers to the force of the political parties: Their strength, capacity to solve social conflicts, and to act like bows communicators between the State and the society.

Keywords : Political identities; Party institutionalization; Agonism.
