Abstract

FURFARO, Cristian. Other institutionalization and everyday life: analytical possibilities from a pragmatic conception. Temas debates (En línea) [online]. 2018, n.35, pp.141-157. ISSN 1853-984X.

The objective of this article is to reflect about the analytical possibilities that the notion of “institutionalization” gives us, inquiring if possible to open up new perspectives that –being in a pragmatic conception– allow us to orient ourselves other uses of the concept of institutionalization. In the first part, we will present an experience that, emerging in one of the cases worked in our doctoral thesis in progress, it constituted the shot from which we ask and reflect on the analytical possibilities that gives us the notion of “institutionalization”. In the second part, we will expose the notion of institutionalization made by O'Donnell (1996) and propose its complementation –and interpretation– with the theoretical contributions of Wittgenstein, Giddens and Nun. In the third part, we draw some points of contact between the theoretical construct elaborated and the experience that worked as a shot, using the case as an example of reference. Finally, we'll reflect on the potential of the proposed analysis.

Keywords : Institutionalization; Everyday life; Language; Pragmatic.
