Abstract

SOSA, Ruth; INGARAMO, María Alejandra; PIGNATTA, María Angélica  and  GIAMPAOLI, Georgina. Sensitive, Insurgent and Emerging Topics in the Agenda of Social Policies (to Broaden our Democracy). Temas debates (En línea) [online]. 2023, n.45, suppl.1, pp.185-193. ISSN 1853-984X.

The present article reflects upon sensitive, insurgent, and emerging topics in the field of social policies with the potential to broaden the agenda of our democracies. We believe that there is an ongoing process of rights expansion related to the collective struggles of social movements, who express themselves in the streets and have an effect on the subterranean transformations that shape other ways of understanding social policies. We recognise and subscribe to the epistemic shift that abruptly appeared with a critical eye in the field of social sciences and in the forms of building knowledge.

As we mark 40 years of Democracy in Argentina, we reflect upon insurgent -and still pending- agendas in matters of the recognition of gender identities and the issue of caregiving, as part of the central axes of inequalities.

Keywords : social policies; democracy; identities; caregiving.
