Abstract

BORGES, Jussara; HELLER, Bruna  and  MACHADO, Renata. Comportamento infocomunicacional de bibliotecários e estudantes de biblioteconomia do Brasil. Palabra clave [online]. 2022, vol.11, n.2, e151. ISSN 1853-9912.  http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.24215/18539912e151.

The article presents a diagnosis of the infocommunicational behavior of Brazilian librarians and library science students who participated in the Infocommunication Skills Promotion course. Infocommunicational behavior refers to the way people behave in informational and communicational processes. The objective of the study was to analyze the infocommunicational behavior of the subjects in order to provide subsidies to programs or projects that aim to promote infocommunicational competences. The discussion takes place in a theoretical and empirical way, based on references from the scientific literature and on quantitative analyzes based on the questionnaire answered by 121 course participants spread over 16 states in Brazil. The main results indicate that the majority understands the relevance of acting as promoters of infoeducation, but not everyone knows how to do it. The public's greatest familiarity with the subjects dealt with in the course was with privacy and ethics in information communication, while promoting infocommunicational skills was seen as the most challenging action for these professionals. It is concluded that there is a vision of the librarian's responsibility as an agent that promotes competences of this nature, but conscious actions are not yet incorporated in his infocommunicational behavior.
