Abstract

KRAUSE, Mercedes. Sentidos, modos de transmisión y proyecciones: una aproximación fenomenológica a las prácticas educativas de la clase media y trabajadora. Propuesta educativa (Online) [online]. 2017, n.47, pp.129-140. ISSN 1995-7785.

The article analyzes educational projections that parents of middle-class and skilled working class families in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA) express towards their children, in connection with the intergenerational transmission of moral discourses and other class culture elements, which are organized by the interpretation of their past, and which legitimize certain projects towards future life. More precisely, the article discusses how educational practices present today in families of different social classes are tied to their past and projected into the future of their children; describes the horizon of meaning in which parents act every day around the formal and informal education of their families and explores the temporality and scope of their educational projections. The proposal is part of a doctoral research which analyzes the reproduction of social classes around everyday practices of health care, education and household economy, from a phenomenological perspective. We have carried out biographical interviews with parents of 31 heterosexual, two-parent and single-parent families, living with their children.

Keywords : Middle and working classes; Educational inequality; Social phenomenology; Educational practices; Educational trajectories.
