Abstract

This article raises the importance of reviewing evaluation trends at the system level and the need to incorporate novice teachers as subjects of evaluation as a process of educational improvement still undeveloped in the country. It reviews traditional evaluation tendencies and exposes the need for a change of approach at the system level that includes formative evaluations. It focuses on the need to introduce these formative evaluation models in the population of novice teachers, with the purpose of influencing improvements in initial teacher training and in the design of support policies in the teaching practices of this target population.
