Audiovisuals have become the predominant language on digital platforms and social networks. However, the production of content by users is strongly conditioned by the narrative and aesthetic possibilities offered by devices and their applications. Likewise, the professional circuit of communication production for both traditional media and platforms is constantly adapting to new consumption habits. Meanwhile, the development, control and transformation of these virtual environments is owned by the world's major corporations. How much does this influence the ways of representation of reality and the production of subjectivities? How can we discuss the democratisation of communication in this context? The aim of this paper is to analyse the communication processes involved in the production of audiovisual content and the power relations that mediate the construction of representations in the dizzying cybernetic world. To achieve this, it builds on the critical theory of cultural mediation and analyses novel intersections to understand hypermediations and the implications of preformatted production.
