Abstract

In this work it will be presented and analyzed, from a perspective inspired by Bruno Latour's Sociology of Science, an investigative activity that was structured and developed using an STS approach (Science, Technology and Society), whose theme is the magnetic force which acts on charged particles in motion within a magnetic field. A workshop was set up in the form of a series of investigations carried out using cathodic tubes (kinescopes), which formed the images in the old analog televisions, with the programmatic content of Magnetism being presented as a consequence of understanding this historical technological apparatus. From the transcripts of the audio and video records of the workshop, verbal interactions of the students were analyzed, pursuing whether the Latourian perspective of the Sociology of Science is consistent with a proposal for teaching Physics that envisions the formation of an effective scientific culture.
