Abstract

VELASCO, Nicolas  and  GANDOLFO, Nicolás. Opportunities provided by the Physics initial teacher training curriculum to strengthen the pedagogical knowledge content. Rev. enseñ. fís. [online]. 2022, vol.34, n.1, pp.41-50. ISSN 0326-7091.  http://dx.doi.org/10.55767/2451.6007.v34.n1.37949.

The present work aims to analyze the curricular design of a Physics teacher-training program with the opportunities it offers for the development of trainees' pedagogical content knowledge (PCK). In particular, we are interested in curricular spaces dealing with disci- plinary content. That is, we want to identify the opportunities these disciplinary-content-oriented subjects offer for students' PCK development. The study is carried out in a physics teacher training establishment, Simón Bolívar Higher Institute, in the city of Córdoba, Argentina. Through our analysis, instances are detected where the curriculum offers opportunities to strengthen the PCK of future teachers, but some vacancies can be addressed in future elaborations of the curricular designs.
