Abstract

This paper intends to characterize the production of knowledge about education in the Sección de Pedagogía of the Universidad de La Plata at the beginning of the twentieth century. We understand that the intellectuals of that Sección wanted to exercise the control of a legitimate discourse not only on the dispositions which had to structure the teachers' work, but also the orientation that had to be given to the educational system. The developed activities of research and training would show the genesis of an intellectual field of the education. In order to characterize the agents' training, we will analyse the procedures of the high school teacher training certificate. On the other hand, we will analyze the struggles to gain the control of the positions and the discursive orientations in the field, talking into account the criteria to define the appropriate and inappropriate, the legitimate and illegitimate forms of discourse.
