Abstract

In this paper we ask about the conditions under which the institutors served the department of Antioquia under the national reform process occurred in Colombia in the early twentieth century at the behest of Law 39 of 1903. We walk into the ways in which they are inspected, the wages paid and social pressures they are subjected. To this purpose, we collect some monitoring elements that are mobilized in Antioquia in the early XX century, and directed with some urgency, the structuring of conditions designed to lead Antioquia society by way of regeneration, civilization and progress, a situation for which the instruction was going to be served primarily by the State through the Law Uribe and nature of causality by which time, education was seen as the bastion of progress regenerator and strut that would take the country by the path of civilized nations.
