Analyzing those discourses about corporal education in Avellaneda and Quilmes presses, between 1946 and 1955, allows thinking local senses and what is known as “classical Peronism”. Indeed, this political project found in physical culture one way to educate legitimated arguments about public health (through medical checks prior to each sports competition) as well as transmit a particular ideology about concepts such as patria, community and society. All this senses linked to citizens education for a “Nueva Argentina” (“New Argentina”) which pretends to leave behind the old economic and political liberal bases. The main idea is to research the constructed meanings by the local (Avellaneda and Quilmes) press about a new socio-political figure that synthesizes the government ideas of those years: the “sports heroes”, whose exemplary characteristic and the local meanings shows the renewed policies about the peronist physical education.
