Abstract

The purpose of this research is to show the incorporation that the Mexican women, especially, professional women experienced through access to written andprinted word in México City in the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century. From a case study ofthe historical, social and cultural factors that have consolidated the presence of women in the print media, among them the professionalization of Mexican women is the emergence of educational media and educational innovations shown proposals for modern education. The work's writing is a social and cultural practice that redefined the conceptions about the feminine had; while possible the construction of spaces where the use of the written word as a space assumed ownership and legitimacy of women.
