Abstract

DIAMANT, Ana Estela. Isabel Luzuriaga (1924-2015), testimonios de un itinerario de exilios transatlánticos: marcas en la educación y en el psicoanálisis. Hist. educ. anu. [online]. 2016, vol.17, n.2. ISSN 2313-9277.

Isabel Luzuriaga, a prominent child psychoanalyst, is trained in France and England under Melanie Klein's influence and is also trained in Argentina in the company of Arminda Aberasturi. She develops her teaching career from her Depth Psychology and Child Psychoanalysis desk at the beginning ofthe University Of Buenos Aires's School Of Psychology. Her career path has been admired by her students and trainees of the 60s. Her work La inteligencia contra sí misma: el niño que no aprende (1972) remains as a milestone in literature on psychology and pedagogy. The statements provided by those interviewed take us to lands and experiences she had gone due to three exiles, her registration to different institutions and her works performed along her personal and academic Ufe. To study her production; a complex cultural one which creates meanings, puts representations and interpretations together and which is full of compiled backgrounds, told presents experiences, legacies and opportunities; allows us to consider the subjective impact on herselfas well as to understand collective issues. Isabel wasfirst exile to England at the age of ten carrying out a family and political mándate, which will be mentioned many times when talking about her Ufe story. Said mándate is followed by the one that brings her to Argentina, the place where she will carry out her studies, start her family and make professional decisions. Finally, in 1978, due to the Argentine military dictatorship, a new exile takes her back to the hostile Spain. There she got on her new direction; her convictions, the militancy, and her professional performance where crucial elements to follow the way and also provided her protection and ímpetus to carry out new actions and productions in the psychoanalysis field.
