Abstract
BARETTA, Mónica. Hist. educ. anu. [online]. 2018, vol.19, n.2, pp.1-10. ISSN 2313-9277.
The normalismo was one of the main educational policies promoted by the Argentine national state at the end of the 19th century. Its purpose was training teachers, necessary for the massive schooling that the recent enacting of the Law 1420 (in 1884) demanded. In this context, not only were public institutions created to regulate, organize and systematize the educational project, but also it began to proliferate a vast bibliographic production of national imprint: school textbooks, reading books, grammars, dictionaries, etcetera. This article analyzes the series of reading books called El libro del escolar, published by the Argentine teacher and pedagogue Pablo Pizzurno between 1901 and 1918. In particular, we will examine the prologues of each of the books that make up the series, to identify there which are the reading ideologies in which Pizzurno bases the pedagogical proposal of his work. Also, we will analyze in what way these ideologies dialogue with the main postulates of normalismo, the pedagogical movement to which the author was related.
