In this article we will discuss the beginnings of the public trajectory of an educator belonging to the interior of the Province of We refer to the teacher in letters María Alejandra Urrutia Artieda (María Aléx) who also consolidated as a poet and intellectual reference of the town of Azul from the thirties of the last century. We will do it from the analysis of the center-periphery link positioningourselves on the context of its university formation in the National University of La Plata, in the twenties and its insertion in Azul from 1930. We will study his career as a central agent in the creation of Azul as a cultural refuge in the center of the Province of Buenos Aires, making special reference in sociability. We will also dwell specifically on theproblematization of the role assigned to him by the Azul press as an intellectual of national projection, after completing his university studies and returning to settle in his native city. We will give special importance to their teacher training, their social position and their relationship with other central actors in the cultural scene of Azul and the press. We will focus on an agency that far exceeded the space of the classrooms.
