Abstract

ALVAREZ, Alejandra; MINGHETTI, Nadia  and  OTERO, Estefanía. Los estudiantes secundarios y la producción de revistas. ¿Estrategias de unidad o resistencia?El caso de tres instituciones educativas de la Provincia y la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (1976-1986). Hist. educ. anu. [online]. 2021, vol.22, n.1, pp.41-50. ISSN 2313-9277.

This article aims to analyze, in an exploratory way, which role the magazines produced by high school students from Buenos Aires played in the period that extends from the last civic military dictatorship to the first years of the return of the democracy in Argentina (1976-1986). The students’ magazines, which werepart of the school culture from the beginnings of the 20th century, in that context became a channel of expression of theyouth in a moment in which all the ways of participation and the student organization were forbidden. These magazines became a space for collective participation, for the expression of opinions and diverse interests. Furthermore, over the course of the crisis of the last dictatorship to the period of the democratic return, the democratization was boosted through these magazines within the educational scope. The magazines that were used correspond to three different educational institutions: Etcétera from the Normal School in the local area of Quilmes, province of Buenos Aires (this magazine was recently recovered by the school archive); Aristócratas del Saber from the National School of Buenos Aires (an emblematic example of the student press during the dictatorship) and Bola (a relevant case for its continuity as a student publication until the present) from the Superior School of Commerce «Carlos Pellegrini». The first was a publication authorized during the last dictatorship while the last two circulated in a clandestine way, which allows us to inquire the strategies developed by the students in both scenarios.

Keywords : Students’ magazine; high school students; dictatorship-resistance; democracy.
