Abstract

DUBATTI, Jorge. Theatrology in Argentina: past, present and future (with special attention to the Argentine theater studios). CELEHIS [online]. 2017, n.34, pp.1-10. ISSN 2313-9463.

The Theatrology (in a broad sense, the set of theater studies in different disciplines) goes along with the processes of the Argentine theater, in a sustained and growing way, from the Centennial of 1910 to the present. This article proposes a look at the growing development of Argentine theatrology through a century of history. It is a corpus of great complexity which cannot be reduced exclusively to the scope of theses, books, articles and university papers. As well as we speak of Argentine theaters in plural and not of "an" Argentine theater, we must also refer to the Argentine Teatrologies, in plural, in order to perceive and value the richness of this multiplicity of practices in the different theatrological production centers of the country. To organize such a wide subject, we propose a theatrical periodization from the Centennial of 1910 in six extensive units, articulated from a component that we consider dominant and remarkable in the territorial cut.

Keywords : Theatrology - Argentina - periodization - complex corpus - extensive units.
