Abstract

CABRAL, María Celeste. New man and desertions: Revolutionary subjects configurations in Eduardo Heras Leóns "La caminata" (1969) and Norberto Fuentess Condenados de condado (1968). CELEHIS [online]. 2017, n.34, pp.1-10. ISSN 2313-9463.

Norberto Fuentess Condenados de Condado (1968) and Eduardo Heras Leóns "La caminata" (1970) rewrite some episodes of the Cuban Revolution in a new perspective, that leaves behind the epic sense and the exemplary value of testimony. The analysis of the figure of the new man made by Ernesto "Che" Guevara in "El socialismo y el hombre en Cuba" (1965) and Pasajes de la guerra revolucionaria (1963) allows for reading in these literary works a critic disaffection with the revolutionary subject model. This takes place in a context of strong intellectual debate about the possibilities and characteristics of revolutionary art in Latin America.

Keywords : New man - Ernesto Guevara - Cuban literature - Eduardo Heras León - Norberto Fuentes.
