Abstract

TERAN MORVELI, Jorge. Postmodern subject and fantastic literature in Peru : The Condemned of Moisés Sánchez Franco. CELEHIS [online]. 2019, n.37, pp.1-9. ISSN 2313-9463.

This article studies the configuration of the postmodern subject from the collection of short stories Los condenados (2016) by the Peruvian writer Moisés Sánchez Franco (1975-2017), a book that appeals to technical and thematic resources linked to classical fantastic literature. However, its current situation leads us to ask ourselves about the differences that it postulates with this, especially at the level of the configuration of the conflicts of the protagonists. These are understood from the link between the topic of the postmodern subject and fantastic literature in Peru . We maintain, in this sense, that in some stories of Sánchez Franco's book, as in the case of "Niebla de invierno", the psyche of the characters can be included within the variants of the postmodern subject. Specifically, from the postmodern violence, which inhabits the interior of the subjects and not in external instances. We start from an analysis that uses narratology, studies on postmodern literature, fantastic literature, and the theoretical arsenal of Cultural Studies.

Keywords : Postmodern Literature; Fantastic Literature; Peruvian Literature; Moisés Sánchez Franco..
