Abstract

TRUPIA, Agustina. Vinculaciones entre el espacio de la ciudad de Buenos Aires y la temporalidad de la fiesta en las prácticas transformistas del siglo XXI. CELEHIS [online]. 2022, n.44, pp.14-14. ISSN 2313-9463.

In this paper, four festive events, which are part of the queer community, are addressed. All of them were central in the development of the drag art scene in the second half of the 2010s: Trabestia Drag Club, Carrera de reyes, Namunkurá and Fiestas Turbo. It is studied the ways in which these spaces were configured from their inscription in the city of Buenos Aires. It is also observed how the city was transformed by the presence of these spaces. Along with this, another issue that is explored is the relationship between those spaces of the queer community and the temporality of the parties. It is proposed, as an initial hypothesis, that both the spatial and temporal conceptions of drag art, carried out in the festive events mentioned above, introduce an intrinsic tension by being constituted as oppositions to the usual cartographic designs and to the daytime of production. In this way, a swinging movement is generated as drag practices push for an insertion that allows integration in the artistic field, but it is the oddness that gives them their disobedient and identity character.

Keywords : performances; spaciality; festive; queer; nocturnatily.
