Basedontheanalysisof some poemsthatrecovertheexperienceoftheweavingandsewingworkers - amongthem, an “inexistent” poem, ananonymouspoem, “Mulher proletária” by Jorge de Lima, the book Diario de una costureraproletariaby Victoria Guerrero Peiranoandthesequence “Fontes de renda” by Lu Menezes - thispaperintendstohighlighttheimportanceofthepoeticdeviceandthe particular knowledgeofsewingworkers as epistemologicalandpolitical tools. Both theirknowledgeandtheirpracticesallowustoreflectonthe world ofwork, affectivityandtheformationofsubjectivities, bringingtogetherheterogeneousanddistant times andcircumstances, turningelementsconsidered “unimportant” intoelementsof “thegreatestimportance” in thepoliticalconsciousness.
