Abstract

DOLZANI, Sofía Macarena. Los comienzos de la infección. Escritura y enfermedad en Cerbero son las sombras de Juan José Millás. CELEHIS [online]. 2023, n.46, pp.9-9. ISSN 2313-9463.

This work analyzes the place of the disease in Cerbero son las sombras, the first Juan José Millás’ novel. The disease discourse makes it possible to signify the violence of the Franco dictatorship in the infection of the bodies. Also, the infection operates as a space where narrative movements are gestated and the beginnings of this author's writing have a place. In this sense, our hypothesis holds that in Millás' first novel the disease configures the beginning of an infectious writing. The infection is located in a fissure that expands over the bodies and the language, and indicates a place of enunciation where mechanisms of power and resistance are inscribed. In this way, far from suturing the sores, Millás makes infection the impulse of his writing and the search to liberate, from literary creation, violence turned flesh.

Keywords : Disease; infection; writing; Millás; Francoism.
