Abstract
CIARALLO, Ana; VECCHIA, Teresa and GROSSO, Javier. Procesos de territorialización de trabajadores rurales migrantes en el Alto Valle del Río Negro. Pampa [online]. 2011, n.7, pp.47-68. ISSN 2314-0208.
In the first decades of the 20th century began developing export-oriented fruticulture production in the Upper Valley of the Río Negro in northern Patagonia Argentina as a regional economy, generating dynamic flows of capital, goods and rural workers. Meanwhile the farms were consolidated as dominant production units, the workforce -mostly Chilean migrants and their families- formed small neighborhoods next to agricultural units, on the banks of the irrigation canals or as slum housing cores. From the vision of “territory” as a social construction and the recognition of the centrality that plays “work” in the production of social processes, we look at the processes of construction of rural settlements as labor replacement scenarios by the deployment of complex social practices that attenuate the dependence of rural workers and their families from the sale of workforce.
