Abstract

ARRILLAGA, Hugo; DELFINO, Andrea  and  TRUCCO, Ignacio. La estructura de los mercados de trabajo en los diferentes tipos urbanos de la región central santafesina. Pampa [online]. 2011, n.7, suppl.1, pp.65-86. ISSN 2314-0208.

This article is intended to explore the hypothesis that points out that the transformations which took place in the labour markets of the micro, small and medium-sized Pampean towns over the last decades, led -most of the population- to higher levels of vulnerability and social inequality, at least in relation to the remaining largest urban areas. Starting from the use of secondary information and surveysperformed in several homes, it was possible to observe that the micro and small towns of the Central Region of Santa Fe have higher levels of employment than the ones verified in the large urban areas. This situation coexists with a high decline in the quality of employment, with an important presence of wageless family workers with a markedly more inequitable income distribution. This anomalies seem to be related not only to the size of the town but also to its type of productive profile and, possibly, to the lack of a State with a regulation and intervention capacity.

Keywords : Agriculturalization; Labour market; Towns typology.
