Abstract

CHAZARRETA, Adriana. Los cambios en la organización gremial de la burguesía vitivinícola de la provincia de Mendoza, Argentina (1990-2011). Pampa [online]. 2014, n.10, pp.55-85. ISSN 2314-0208.

This paper's first aim is to understand how the institutional map of the bourgeoisie in this activity has been modified together with the transformations in the wine making activity. This is a relevant topic because a new organizational form has been constituted. The second aim is to explain the particularity of one entity -the Corporación Vitivinícola Argentina (COVIAR)- as a crystallization of the institutional changes suffered by the wine making bourgeoisie in her relation with the State. The methodological approach is based in semi-structured interviews with winery owners or managers and with key informants, also in the analysis of internal and public documentation of the corporative institutions. This paper concludes that these institutionalized spaces served to a better positioning of those sectors linked with local or national capitals in the face of the possible advance of foreign companies in the negotiation with the state.

Keywords : Bourgeoisie; Wine; Vitiviniculture; State; Corporación Vitivinícola Argentina.
