This article analyses the recent transformation of land uses that put at risk the coastal heritage of the Municipality of La Paloma (Rocha, Uruguay). The objective was to identify future alternatives for land uses that contribute to the sustainability of the system. The multi–attribute modeling and the scenario method were combined based on a geographic information system, which sought to minimize conflicts between uses and maximize their coexistence in the territory. An aptitude assessment was carried out for different productive and conservation uses based on the consultation of qualified informants, obtaining the aptitude maps of current use and for the year 2030. As a result, it was observed that the configuration of uses can change depending on the concretion or not of a deep water port, where Logistics and Tourism expand spatially. Logistics and Agriculture showed the greater incompatibility with other uses, increasing the dispute for space. Land use conflicts were characterized by homogeneous management zones and a strategy of Integrated Coastal Management initiatives was established.
