Abstract

KABAT, Marina. La Corporación para la Promoción del Intercambio y las exportaciones no tradicionales, 1941-1946. Rev. hist. am. argent. [online]. 2013, vol.48, n.2, pp.71-105. ISSN 2314-1549 .

Despite the parliamentary defeat of the National Recovery Plan, at the early '40s Federico Pinedo achieved to develop many of his initiatives. This was made possible by a series of decrees signed by the national government, including one that gives rise to the Corporation for the Promotion of Trade- Corporación para la Promoción del Intercambio -CPI- and by the rules regarding the exchange rate regime set by the Central Bank of Argentina. Thus took shape a non traditional exports promotion scheme which has hardly been studied. In this paper we examine the actions taken by the CPI, through a wide range of documents of the entity. We complement this with a thorough analysis of its activity related to the leather industries and its impact on exports of this sector.

Keywords : Industrial Exports; Foreign Trade; National Recovery Plan; Corporation for the Promotion of Trade; Pinedo.
